Quick start
- Pick the start date and the end date.
- Choose whether to count the end date too. Say Yes for things like hotel nights or leave days where both days are included.
- Read the total days, weeks, months and working days.
Should the end date count?
From 1 January to 31 December 2026 there are 364 days between the two dates. If both the first and last day count, as with a 1 January to 31 December contract, the answer is 365. Choose the setting that matches your question.

Working days
Working days count Monday to Friday and skip weekends. Public holidays differ by country and region, so they are not removed automatically. Subtract the holidays that fall in your range for an exact business-day count.
Common uses
- Days until an exam, a wedding or a holiday
- Notice periods and contract lengths
- Pregnancy and project timelines
- Interest calculated per day
Common questions
How many days are there between two dates?
Enter both dates. The calculator subtracts them using the real calendar, including different month lengths and leap years.
Does it include the start date?
The days-between count measures the gap. Choosing to count the end date adds one day so that both dates are included.
Can the end date be before the start date?
Yes. The calculator swaps them and tells you it did.
How are working days counted?
Every Monday to Friday in the range is counted. Weekends are skipped, but public holidays are not.
